Ok great to get in the moment with what you’re up too. I have many years of raising chickens. Have 4 bantam chickens in the barn . Watching them grow and explore gives me joy every day
So many things. I am sorry for the loss of your Uncle.
Love the chickens and repurposing furnituer. Such amazing satisfaction from such simple pleasures.
I couldn't agree more on the Carpe Diem! And, can't believe I'm coming to France again. We arrived June 1 for the 80th of D Day. My nephew was chose to parachute onto Omaha Beach on the 6th so we are bringing his Momma, and my cousin Carolyn - the family historian - and 2 other friends. But, yet again, we will not have time to come to the Alps! :(((( So, have to come at least 1 more time:)) Can't wait! So glad to hear all is well!
Thanks for reading, Michelle! You are the second person I know who’s going to be at the D-Day beaches for the 80th. He’s been invited by a French film maker. His dad was a famous D-Day pilot. I’ll email you his name in case you see something about him or happen to cross paths. Very cool experience for your nephew and family. What a memorable experience that will be! And, yes, third time’s the charm. Hopefully we’ll have our guest room done by the time that next opportunity comes up for you to travel to France and the Alps! 😉
No wonder your maternal grandmother always referred to her birth place in Europe as "the old country."
Yes! They say that age is just a number and the term "old" has many interpretations. European old and American old are not always the same.
Thanks so much! I am especially astonished, as you were, by the idea of elephants in the high alps!
I think of them often. What a sight that must have been!
